Permian Basin Nuclear Services Chapter of US WIN receives a national award
29 July 2025 UUSAThe U.S. Women in Nuclear - Permian Basin Nuclear Services Chapter, sponsored by Urenco USA, has been keeping a big secret. On Tuesday, July 29, at the US WIN Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, they proudly accepted the award for 2024 Large Chapter – Outreach Advocacy and Support (pictured left to right: UUSA's Marie Grey, Sarah Orcutt, Jennifer Michalcik, and Guinevere Williams).
The vision of U.S. WIN is to position the United States for the future of nuclear energy and technology through the advancement of women, and the Permian Basin Nuclear Services chapter has brought this to life locally through their commitment to primary school STEM education initiatives, professional development for chapter members, and community outreach and volunteerism for the last 8 years.
Notably in 2024, they helped host and support many important outreach events alongside Urenco USA, including the 2024 Enriched Women's Symposium with Former Miss America Grace Stanke, STEM science workshops for fifth grade students in both Eunice and Lovington, New Mexico, supporting local science fairs and student job fairs in Hobbs, New Mexico, and much more. Congratulations to the PBNS chapter! Keep accomplishing the great work in outreach and advocacy!
