Richie’s Summer Science Experience was a success at the 2024 Lea County Fair and Rodeo. Hundreds of children and their families enjoyed fun and engaging STEM experiments and learned about important topics such as the scientific method, chemical reactions, and engineering structures for safety and stability. They also learned about UUSA and the important work we do to help provide energy security to the world and some of the great ways the nuclear industry is positively impacting the world of medicine and the environment. John Kirkpatrick, Managing Director for UUSA stated, “We enjoy the workshops we do each year with the 5th grade students in our local schools, and are glad to take it one step further in our community this summer by involving the whole family in the experience.” Every young participant walked away with a free backpack, t-shirt, and great memories made at the Fair.
