UUSA 14th Annual 9/11 Day of Service
27 September 2023 UUSAOver the past week, 200 volunteers from Urenco USA (UUSA) gave of their time to pay tribute to the victims of 9/11 through community service projects in both Eunice and Hobbs, NM. Projects took place over several days during UUSA’s 14th annual 9/11 Day of Service. In Hobbs, UUSA provided support to the Unity House, a local non-profit women’s sober living residence. This project consisted of creating a gym, outdoor yard improvements, as well as updating indoor spaces to help this organization better deliver their services. Volunteers also worked in Eunice to help senior citizens with yard work and clean-up on Texas Avenue.
“What began with a handful of employees as a minor project in 2008 has evolved into UUSA’s largest annual community service project,” said Lisa Hardison, Head of Communications and Public Relations. “UUSA employees look forward to participating in the event each year and making a difference in our community.”
Several companies helped to support this project as well. These companies included: Ramirez & Sons, Lea County Concrete, Border States Electric, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Kirkmeyer Electric, One Way Graphics, and the City of Eunice. “We are grateful for the generosity of these companies to support our community service efforts,” added Hardison.
