UUSA’s Annual CASA Toy Drive
02 December 2022 UUSAEach year, UUSA facilitates a toy drive for CASA of Lea County, a non-profit organization that provides advocacy and services for neglected or abused children in the community.
UUSA receives donation cards with descriptions of the children in CASA’s care, such as “Girl, Age 12” or “Boy, Age 5”. Employees use these cards to age-appropriate toys to donate to CASA’s toy bank, which foster parents and guardians can visit on special occasions like Christmas and the child’s birthday.
Donating physical presents is not the only way employees can get involved: monetary and gift card donations are also accepted. CASA even created a virtual wish list for donors who don’t have time to shop.
“It’s so heartwarming to watch the generosity of our employees at work, especially during the season of giving, when you can see the number of gifts under the tree grow each day,” shared Lisa Hardison, UUSA’s Manager of Communications and Public Relations.
