Each year, UUSA designs and builds a float to represent our organization in the Lea County Fair and Rodeo parade. This year, the theme was “Traditions We Treasure” and UUSA created a mini fair, with a concessions booth, a prizes booth, Best-in-Show stalls, and a Ferris Wheel!
Although Covid-19 precautions meant that fewer people could ride on the float, children of UUSA employees were welcomed to ride along in the float. Meanwhile, UUSA’s President and CEO, Karen Fili, waved at onlookers from the truck.
“We love participating in this treasured local tradition,” shared Lisa Hardison, our Communications and Public Relations Manager. “Although we were glad to see the county prioritize health and safety last year, we’re glad that the Covid restrictions have lifted enough to allow the county to bring it back this year.”
