At CERAWeek in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, March 12,  Urenco’s Chief Commercial Officer, Laurent Odeh, shared a stage with executives from DOW, Google, and Amazon taking part in a critical conversation, “Tripling Nuclear Energy Capacity by 2050”.

This session, sponsored by Urenco, began with an announcement by the World Nuclear Association (WNA), of a global coalition of major energy users signing a pledge signifying the nuclear energy’s significant role in the future of energy security and resiliency in providing continuous clean energy. The goal is to triple the current nuclear capacity across the globe within the next 15 years and joining forces to ensure this movement is successful. Sama Bilbao y Leon, WNA Director, shared that large organizations from 31 countries, 40 major banks, and over 140 nuclear industry companies are already involved in the pledge with more interested parties by the day.

This much anticipated panel issued a call to government leaders to issue policies for rapid nuclear development and new power stations to meet the growing energy demands of data centers, refineries, the ever increasing domestic manufacturing needs, and other uses.

Several representatives of Urenco attended the full CERAWeek events and had a presence in multiple sessions throughout the event.
