U-Battery has launched ‘Phase 2’ of the design and development of its micro nuclear reactor.
The launch, held last week by webinar due to the COVID-19 crisis, involved eight different supplier organisations, which will be playing key roles in the next stage.
Presentations were given on the U-Battery team, how the design has evolved and the next steps in realising its delivery, the potential markets, and roles and responsibilities for each organisation.
The productive two-hour event was concluded with a very engaged question and answer session.
Steve Threlfall, General Manager of U-Battery, said: “This kick-off meeting was an important opportunity to touch base again with our supply chain to ensure we have a common understanding of the objectives for the next phase.
“We were delighted with the attendance level and thoughtful comments and questions. There is a lot of momentum around the project and we are excited to be making positive progress in refining U-Battery’s design and development ready for the construction of a first of a kind reactor.”
