On 30 January, Urenco Nederland (UNL) reached the 5,000th student with our science workshop. The workshop was introduced in 2007 in the Almelo region and has since expanded both geographically and in numbers. We visit around 100 local schools each year and primary school de Regenboog was lucky enough to have the 5,000th student in their midst. The whole class will be treated to an excursion to celebrate this milestone.
The class’ teacher Nico Post was already familiar with Urenco's science workshops as his school was visited for the third year in a row.
He commented that the workshop really enlarges some students’ interest in science:
“Some of the children absorb the information like a sponge and are full of all sorts of questions. They all enjoy the six different experiments to separate substances that follows the introduction. And because they work in groups, they also learn how to work together and divide the tasks. We hope UNL will visit our school with another workshop next year and we thank them for the special treat they brought along this year.”
