Urenco UK engages with the local community

11 April 2016 Local Urenco UK

The Urenco UK procurement team recently spent a day volunteering at Barrowmore House. Urenco’s volunteering policy provides the equivalent of one working days leave for employees to volunteer in the local community and on this occasion the Procurement Department supported a local charitable organisation by using their skills to participate in a number of diverse activities ranging from painting to carpet tiling.

Set in 85 acres Barrowmore house supplies accommodation for people with disabilities. It is home to a maximum of thirty five disabled and vulnerable people with the capacity to offer short term welfare breaks and respite in separate self -contained units within the home.

Lynsey Campbell Senior Procurement Manager commented:

“On this occasion the procurement team showed fantastic team spirit whilst supporting the local community. The team pulled together to deliver a variety of projects, ranging from redecoration of bedrooms, cleaning, painting and carpet tiling of communal areas & hallways and finally the afternoon task focused on the preparation of the estates vegetable allotment for Barrowmore residents and visitors. A successful and enjoyable day was had by the Urenco UK Procurement Team”
