Urenco has introduced Recite Me accessibility and language tools online to ensure all our website visitors can more readily access online content and services barrier-free, in a way that best suits their needs.
Being able to offer an inclusive experience is essential to support over 20% of the population who may encounter barriers when exploring our website due to differences in their sensory skills, neurodiversity, a learning difficulty or because of a visual impairment or a disability, and if they speak another language.
The Recite Me toolbar on our website includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customisable styling options and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech and styling options.
Ian Deninson, Chief People and Culture Officer at Urenco, said: “Creating an inclusive and accessible working environment is core to our culture at Urenco. Effective collaboration across a number of teams has led to the identification and implementation of Recite Me, as a fantastic tool which will ensure our website is more accessible and easier to navigate for everyone”.
The internet can be an incredibly intimidating place for those with access barriers, and if the right tools are lacking to adequately understand or communicate effectively then individuals can be at a significant disadvantage - this is what we are actively addressing.
