Urenco supports students’ climate change expedition

Urenco has supported two students who went on an expedition to the North Cape to conduct climate change research.

Philipp Selzer and Jesse Hilderink travelled to Norway as part of a trip with the Master-MINT-Academy in Germany.

Both are from Missionsgymnasium Bardel, which is close to our Gronau enrichment site, and we chose to lend them our financial support.

The two travelled around 3,000 kilometres to conduct their research in the rugged, Scandinavian landscape.

Their research focus is on how climate change is affecting Nordic ecology and what protective measures can be developed to counteract this.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Urenco does, and we are committed to contributing to a net zero and secure energy future. Part of this is supporting communities and encouraging others to deliver positive impacts.

Communications Manager at Urenco Deutschland, Chris Breuer,  said:

“We are looking forward to Philipp and Jesse’s discoveries.

“Their commitment shows how much young people can achieve when given the opportunity and we are happy to offer them our support.”
