Urenco has met with the Ukraine Energy Ministry prior to attending the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.
The meeting on Tuesday, June 20, saw Urenco CEO Boris Schucht and Chief Commercial Officer Laurent Odeh meet with officials, including Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
They discussed Urenco’s signature of the Ukraine Business Compact, Urenco’s existing contract and support for Ukraine via its ongoing deliveries of nuclear fuel, as well as its long term cooperation and support of the nuclear sector in the country into the future.
The Ukraine Business Compact is to rally the business community to support the country’s recovery and reconstruction efforts after the war.
The London meeting took place as delegates were preparing to attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference, Urenco included, between Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 June.
Boris Schucht said: “It was an honour to meet with the Minister of Energy and his team during what is an extremely difficult period for them and the people of Ukraine.
“We are focused on continuing to support our customer in Ukraine, as well as working closely with governments, industry organisations and humanitarian relief efforts.
“Their determination and courage is inspiring and Urenco is proud to be a major supplier to Ukraine’s energy industry.”
