COO applauds efforts of shift workers

11 May 2022 Global

Urenco’s Chief Operating Officer has recorded a special thank you message for all those in the company who work tirelessly to keep its operations going during the night.

Urenco’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) has recorded a special thank you message for all those in the company who work tirelessly to keep its operations going during the night.

Dave Sexton (pictured) spoke about the important role our night shift workers play, in the video address for National Third Shift Workers Day, May 11.

However, he also saluted the contribution of those who work shifts any time of the day.

The Day celebrates the people that keep businesses running while we sleep, which is especially important for 24/7 operations like Urenco’s.

Across four countries, in different time zones, Urenco’s night shift workers ensure that our plants are running as they should and that buildings are kept secure.

For example, our respective Operations teams ensure that the enrichment process – which doesn’t stop during the night – runs smoothly in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and the US. While Incident Response Teams monitor the security of our sites and ensure the safety of our assets.

At Capenhurst in the UK, night shift Plant Operators also ensure our TAILS Management Facility continues to operate efficiently.

Dave said in the video: “Without you, the company would not be the success it is. You truly demonstrate what it means to be One Urenco.”
