Statement on German Green Party request to the European Commission
09 October 2020 GlobalUrenco has noted the legal opinion sought by the German Green Party and their request to the European Commission to take action against Germany.
We follow all applicable laws and regulations in the countries in which we operate. Ahead of every export we apply for the relevant export and transport permits. In addition, all transactions are subject to strict international non-proliferation regulations based on international security and the security standards of the IAEA and EURATOM.
We are confident that it is the right thing to do, to take steps to reuse tails when the market conditions are favourable. In doing so, we can reduce the usage of natural uranium. We take steps to achieve this ourselves or, periodically, use the capacity of other primary enrichment producers, which is common industry practice.
