On 9-11 June, the 46th World Nuclear Fuel Market (WNFM) annual conference took place in Lisbon, Portugal.
Attendees discussed current nuclear fuel trends with a focus on innovation and opportunities that can help set the foundation for a better future.
At the conference, Dominic Kieran, Urenco’s Chief Commercial Officer, explained how a focus on cost efficiency and cooperation can help the nuclear industry support a sustainable, decarbonised Europe by 2050.
His speech was followed by a session in which Urenco’s Brexit Director, Harro Blokuis, participated. The panel looked at several recent and near term government influences on nuclear fuel supply, including Brexit.
At the end of the three day conference, Urenco sponsored a farewell dinner for all WNFM attendees. Kirk Schnoebelen, Urenco’s Head of Sales and President at Urenco Inc., welcomed more than 100 nuclear industry professionals and thanked them all for the engaged participation in the conference and honouring Urenco with their presence at the dinner.
Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by a traditional Portuguese Fado performance and dance show. Dominic Kieran then drew the dinner to a close thanking the organisers and congratulating everyone at the dinner on the role they play in supporting the nuclear industry.
